Class Duration: 4 Days Please read carefully: * This is an all-inclusive course package for PMS-475 Basic Land Navigation and S-244 Field Observer, hosted by The Rankin Cattle and Guest Ranch. *Course tuition cost can be paid for separately if agencies require so, no additional fees apply. The package and price includes: -Registration and certificate costs for both courses -All 4 nights of lodging -The following meals: -Sunday April 26th- Dinner -Monday, April 27th- Breakfast, lunch and dinner -Tuesday, April 28th- Breakfast, lunch and dinner -Wednesday, April 29th- Breakfast, lunch and dinner -Thursday, April 30th- Breakfast and lunch -Single and dual occupancy rooms are available -Social hour available each evening. Contact us for more information. *No agency affiliation is needed to attend these courses. These courses are presented according to NWCG curriculum. PMS-475: This course allows students to build proficiency interpreting topographic maps, compass use, as well as practice navigating with these tools during classroom and field day settings. The course will also cover the use of clinometers, as well as types of geographic location systems, such as latitude/longitude and Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM). -A course completion certificate for this course will be issued from Southern Sierra Fire Training upon completion. This course meets and exceed NWCG standards. S-244 FOBS: This course provides the student with the skills necessary to perform as a Field Observer (FOBS). Topics include roles and responsibilities of the FOBS; how to make and document observations. Students will be able to practice passing off information gathered in preparation of working on incidents. Students will also get to practice using GPS, field maps; compass, and electronic navigation applications such as Avenza and more during classroom and field sessions. -A California State Fire Training certificate for this course will be issued upon completion. This course meets and exceed NWCG standards. *PMS-475 is required to be qualified as a Field Observer (FOBS) through CICCS. Cancellation Policy

To cancel your registration and receive a refund you need to contact Southern Sierra Fire Training 30-calendar days prior to the first day of the class. A $15 refund processing fee will be deducted from the total refund amount for each class canceled. However, if you cancel your registration within 30-calendar days of the first day of class, you can carryover your registration towards any class we offer now or in the future. You will not lose your class registration. Just contact us to cancel and/or to apply your cancelled registration towards another Southern Sierra Fire Training class.
